This issue of Europe being devoted to late 19th century literature coincided with the inclusion of Huysmans' Against Nature in the literature agrégation program in 1991. It was therefore logical that I propose a complementary article to the work done during the summer, during the preparation of the collective work using what I called "the Hubert de Phalèse method". But in this case, I approached the question of the vocabulary used by Huysmans in a more traditional way, so as not to frighten the reader with figures.
