Europe 1923-1998, an International Culture Review

This special issue, under a cover undertaking the engraving offered by Picasso for the issue devoted to him in 1947, reproduces in full the proceedings of the Colloquium at the Sorbonne, Louis Liard Hall, on March 27, 1998 (all day), organized by me with the assistance of: UNIVERSITY PARIS III-SORBONNE NOUVELLE (EA 176 CENTER FOR AVANT-GARDE AND MODERNITY RESEARCH) and the EUROPE FRIENDS association (of which I was then president).

Program:

MARCH 27. ANNIVERSARY. In Paris, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the journal Europe, a colloquium entitled "Europe 1923-1998, an International Culture Review" will be held at the Sorbonne (from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Louis-Liard Hall).

For the colloquium, my introduction text was entitled "News from Europe". I changed the title with a wordplay of double, even triple meaning. Considering its brevity, I give it to read here with direct access.
