Besides my contribution to the "Cubism and Literature" dossier, I appeared in this issue in the form of a chronicle devoted to the biography of Paul Eluard written by Jean-Charles Gateau. I had been part of his jury for the state doctorate thesis he had previously defended on the poet in his relationships with painting, and I had appreciated his way of approaching the literary question. The biography posed other problems, which he had resolved in an equally rational manner. This is why I republish this review here in digital form.
