"at the initiative of Jacques Demougin, Larousse editions decided in 1983 to relaunch the Petits Classiques Larousse, starting with Alfred Jarry. I therefore provided him with this work, the first to introduce Ubu into secondary education. About twenty years later, I realized that Larousse editions had replaced me with two individuals, without notifying me, and contrary to my publishing contract. Consequently, I am making it available here to all audiences. HB
