"Alfred Jarry's Dramaturgy", L'Information littéraire, 1975, n° 5, pp. 208-212.

I was posted at the University of Abidjan (Ivory Coast) when I came to defend my thesis for the State Doctorate in Paris, in the spring of 1975. This took place at the Sorbonne, or, more precisely, at the Grand Palais (yes indeed!) where the University of Paris IV then had premises. Under the direction of Marie-Jeanne Durry who then had control over twentieth-century studies. Actually spending the entire academic year abroad, I hardly had the leisure to seek out a publisher likely to be interested in such work. However, Professor Pierre Castex let me know that he had introduced my work on Alfred Jarry's theater into a new edition of his famous French literature manual. On the same occasion, he suggested that I provide him with a developed presentation of my work, which he immediately published in the journal L'Information littéraire, where he was highly respected. This quarterly journal ceased publication in 2008, and volumes published before 2000 are not digitized. Subsequently, A-G Nizet, who had already published my thesis on Roger Vitrac, agreed to publish this one, with the support of the Sorbonne Publications: Jarry dramaturge, Paris, Nizet, 1980, 304 p.
