"Approximate Dada", International Colloquium "Dda 100 times", Moscow, November 10-11, 2016, V.V. Mayakovsky State Museum, M. Gorky Institute of World Literature...
As a member of the organizing committee, Elena Galtsova (see on this same site: 2005_Image de Moscou) informed me of the intention of Moscow artists and researchers to celebrate the centenary of Dada. This is how I received the invitation reproduced below. Besides the volume Dada, histoire d'une subversion, written with Michel Carassou, published in 2005 by Fayard editions, and my numerous articles on the subject, I was interested in the presence of Dada in Moscow, and notably in the zaum language, for fifty years, since I had often discussed it with Benjamin Goriély (1898-1986), essayist and poet himself, author of: Les Poètes dans la révolution russe (Gallimard, 1934), the first French work giving an account with understanding and precision of poetic activity during the Bolshevik revolution. I had moreover given him a place in the first issue of the journal studying the Dada movement in 1964. I therefore participated with great interest in this important international meeting, where I was able to measure the interest that Russian researchers had in their poetic past, particularly in a curious room, with entirely modern interior architecture, of the "Jewish Center of Tolerance" (sic), while taking advantage of the in-depth visit of avant-garde works at the Tretyakov Gallery. Note that the interventions delivered during this colloquium have not been published to date.
