PIERRE TAMINIAUX

Pierre Taminiaux is a professor of French and Francophone Literature of the 20th and 21st centuries at Georgetown University, Washington DC. He has also been a Professor at the Universities of Strasbourg and Paris I-Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is the author of numerous critical works, including The Paradox of Photography (Rodopi, 2009), Du Surréalisme à la photographie contemporaine : au croisement des arts et de la littérature (Honoré Champion, 2016), Révolte et Transcendance : Surréalisme, situationnisme et arts contemporains (L'Harmattan, 2018), Esthétiques radicales : actualité des avant-gardes (Hermann, 2021) and Politique de la contradiction : art moderne et surréalisme (Hermann, 2022). In addition, he is the author of several poetry collections, including Les Mots de l'art, inspired by the works of Jean Arp and Juan Gris (L'Arbre à paroles, 2012) and Miroirs du jeu (L'Harmattan, 2023), inspired by Dada and surrealism.

Pierre Taminiaux est membre fondateur de l'International Society for the Study of Surrealism (ISSS). Dernier ouvrage paru : Lignes de vie (L’Harmattan, 2024), recueil poétique inspiré par l’art et la littérature des avant-gardes du XIXe et du XXe siècles.
