PIERRE REVERDY AND NORD-SUD, HISTOIRES LITTÉRAIRES NO. 30

PASSAGE EN REVUES

"PIERRE REVERDY AND NORD-SUD", HISTOIRES LITTÉRAIRES, NO. 30, APRIL-MAY-JUNE 2007, PP. 6-15.

EDITORIAL:

There was much talk this winter about a book teaching how to talk about books one hasn't read. It was not distributed to our contributors, whose number makes up for and supports their ardor, but there is in this Bayardian program an approach to culture, that of the honest man and not the specialist, which appeals as something proper in tainted times. It is by reading that one becomes a bindweed, said Queneau, and not a reader, a reciter, a teller, but a light creature full of twists, who rises up.

Here is a program for a journal, to preserve spaces of freedom, lightness: kitchen Latin and Trajan's column, history of the journal Nord-Sud, the 19th century from Jules Janin to Han Ryner, Anatole France as a writer of national defeat (long live defeats), the conquest of space initiated by Flash Gordon (the impotence of Guy l’Éclair) according to the history of imagination revisited by Francis Lacassin, this is, strictly speaking, the unbridled horizon.

Bon voyage.

Share the publication "The Editorial of No. 30" This issue of the journal Histoires Littéraires having no main theme, results in a certain diversity. The role of Pierre Reverdy as the driving force behind a journal published in the midst of war, welcoming the young poets of modernity, convinced Jean-Jacques Lefrère and Michel Pierssens to publish my article initially conceived for Dossier H, Dada Circuit total, published in 2005 by l’Age d’Homme, finally cut for lack of space.
