Paul Éluard, Capital of Pain (1926)
"The vagaries of copyright law mean that today Paul Eluard's works are in the public domain in Canada but not in France!
Concerned with making this... capital collection available to the public who, like me, can no longer physically read printed text, I asked Cécile Eluard, who granted it to me, permission to put Capital of Pain online, digitized from the original edition (Gallimard-NRF editions, 1926), and formatted by me. May she be thanked, as well as Claire Sarti, who kindly agreed to intercede for this purpose."
