In opening this section devoted to the publication of my own books in digital version, I hoped to prolong somewhat the existence of those whose established publishers no longer wanted to ensure commercialization. But I must admit that none had yet done me the trick of absolute contempt allied with boorishness!
It happens that while searching for digitized books on the BnF's Gallica site, I was by chance offered Surrealism in the Left-Wing Press as a digital file and was immediately connected to the publisher's server who offered it to me at the price of 20 €. The work, printed in a thousand copies, had been exhausted in six months. First, I rejoiced to see it selected by the National Library which thus prolonged its course indefinitely. Then I was surprised by the fixed price, identical to that of the paper book. Never having been consulted for this new reissue, I inquired with the Gallica managers about the terms of their contract with the publisher. These immediately disclaimed, saying they were merely relaying the publishers' offer, and referred me to Paris-Méditerranée editions. However, I knew they had gone bankrupt. A message to the buyer remained without follow-up, as did a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt. However, the work was withdrawn from the catalog without further ado.

To allow judgment, Henri Béhar and his team gathered all the articles concerning it in Le Populaire, the great socialist daily, L'Humanité, Europe, Commune, Marianne, La Critique sociale, La Flèche... If judgments differ according to the moments and tendencies proper to the various organs, it nevertheless appears that the surrealist movement did not leave the Left indifferent and that it was not for it an ally of complete rest.
