THE PAUL ELUARD COLLECTION OF THE SAINT-DENIS MUSEUM: AT THE FRIENDS’ MEETING

PUBLICATIONS DIVERSES

"The Paul Eluard Collection of the Saint-Denis Museum: At the Friends' Meeting", in Paul, Max and the Others, edited by Sylvie Gonzalez. Thonon les Bains, L'Albaron, 1993, pp. 103-136.

This collaboration was requested of me by the curator of the Paul Eluard Museum following the research work that two of my master's students, Véronique Duchemin and Loïc Le Bail, had carried out in her archives. They had then given a theatrical performance in the premises she was running. I took advantage of this to present my project for a Surrealism Museum, of which I outlined the broad lines, without however attracting the attention of any government institution. It must be admitted that the same idea, defended a few years later by the surrealists themselves, led by José Pierre, had no more success. Yet Paul Eluard's poetic activity, often carried out in collaboration, could have been an opportunity to open this file.
