ANDRÉ BRETON’S MAD LOVE, FRENCH MEDAL CLUB, N° 68

PASSAGE EN REVUES

"André Breton's Mad Love", French Medal Club, n° 68, 1980, pp. 58-65.8.

The surrealist painter and art critic Marcel Jean (1900-1994) worked regularly with the French Medal Club, both through original creations and by providing notices. He did not seem to have had a passion for the medal that Szkzly had designed as an illustration for André Breton's work, Mad Love: a mass of bronze crossed with an X. Knowing my work, he suggested to the journal's editor to ask me for a notice. For my part, I did not value the artist's creation any more, but I was pleased to make known to an audience of art lovers my point of view on reading the Bretonian narrative. And the coincidences on which it is built.
