"The Thought of Mr. Aa the Antiphilosopher", in The Revolution in Letters, Henriette Ritter and Annelies Schulte (eds), Amsterdam, Rodopi, 1993, pp. 183-195.
I greatly appreciated the work of Fernand Drijkoningen (1928-2003) who was director of the French department at the University of Amsterdam and above all animated a journal of critical studies on surrealism. Our views converged very often, and he particularly appreciated the Dada Movement. It was therefore quite obvious that on the occasion of his retirement, I should offer him an unpublished article on Tristan Tzara, and notably the character he had created, Mr. Aa the antiphilosopher, another figure of Father Ubu, with thought and poetry added.
