OTTO GROSS
Otto Hans Adolf Gross, born on March 17, 1877 in Gniebing, Styria and died on February 13, 1920 in Berlin, was an Austrian physician, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. A non-conformist disciple of Sigmund Freud, he became an anarchist and joined the libertarian community of Monte Verità in Ascona. Somewhat forgotten from the history of psychoanalysis, Otto Gross nevertheless influenced Berlin artists of the Dada movement and is considered one of the precursors of sexual liberation theories as well as Freudian Marxism.
