
AMÉDÉE OZENFANT
Amédée Ozenfant, born on April 15, 1886 in Saint-Quentin in the Aisne and died on May 3, 1966 in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes) was a French artist, pioneer of the modern movement, co-founder of purism with Le Corbusier; his pictorial work is featured in many international museums. He is also an important 20th century theorist, lecturer and art critic known for his teaching in Paris, London and New York. He was co-director of the journal L'Esprit Nouveau (1920-1925) with Le Corbusier and Paul Dermée.
