JÉRÔME DUWA

Doctor in contemporary art history, agrégé in philosophy, associate member of the Thalim mixed research unit, Jérôme Duwa (born in 1971 in Sélestat) teaches philosophy at the École Estienne. His books and research concern the aesthetic and political issues opened by surrealism. He has gathered Jean Schuster's poems in the volume Une île à trois coups d'aile (Le Cherche midi), Robert Lebel's writings: Le Surréalisme comme essuie-glace, 1943-1984 (Mamco), and has edited Front Unique – La traversée du surréalisme by Jean-Jacques Lebel (Les presses du réel). He has also published several essays, including 1968, année surréaliste (Imec), Surréalistes et situationnistes, vies parallèles (Dilecta), Les Batailles de Jean Schuster, défense et illustration du surréalisme (L'Harmattan) and Claude Courtot, à contretemps (Main forte - Association des amis de Benjamin Péret). He regularly collaborates with La Revue des revues, CCP, Art Press and Critique d'art, has participated in the journals Celebrity café and 591 and co-hosts the Cahiers Benjamin Péret.
